I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.
Did you try my super quick & tasty Choc Chip Protein Ball recipe I posted last week?
Check it out here if you missed it
Today, I just wanted to share some EXCITING news with you and also ask if you could possibly help me.
First, that exciting news!!
Lee Donald Personal Training will officially be 11years old this Thursday.
Yup 26th May 2011, I had my very first client.
No money, no equipment and no premises.
After moving back home to help save some money whilst I was qualifying to become a Personal Trainer in Glasgow.
I began operating from my Mum’s lounge and travelling to other people’s houses.
(Mum you’re an absolute legend and can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done and continue to do to support me)
Looking back, it’s crazy to think how it all started.
Fast forward to today.
A private fitness cabin on my property.
3 trademarked fitness classes.
Winning 17 awards and being a finalist in another 4.
Launching personalised 6 week nutrition plans.
Launching The MAX Experience.
Launching The MAX Experience Pre/Post Natal.
Being a guest speaker at Aberdeen Grammar School.
Being on the expert panel for Sport Aberdeen (Active Girls Commitee).
Attending numerous wedding, charity, student events and educational/training courses.
Surviving a global pandemic by moving my entire business online for almost 2 years.
It’s definitely been action packed.
When I qualified as a Personal Trainer and started my business all those years ago, I was also on the cusp of trying to overcome a 15 year eating disorder, stopping smoking, coming off meds and building a healthier relationship with alcohol.
Add a 6 year old and 3 year old which changed life as I knew it.
Diagnosis with Broncho Constriction which also changed life as I knew it.
Addiction to obstacle course racing alongside a European & World OCR Championship where I picked up an extremely challenging 3 year injury I’ve just overcome which again….changed life as I knew it.
Aaaand that about brings us up to date! lol.
Mentally, physically and professionally I’ve been tested to my max on numerous occasions.
Sure, there’s been lots of highlights and success but I’ve also had to fight my way through some seriously tough times.
Despite those tough times, it’s been an incredibly rewarding journey and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
It genuinely blows my mind when I think back to how things used to be and the person I was, to where I am and who I am today.
Being a Mum, business woman, OCR athlete and having the ability to help people positively change their lives is my passion and something I hand on heart absolutely love.
And I hope by sharing my story, it helps people realise it’s never too late to turn your life around and you can achieve amazing things if you’re willing to put in the time and effort to make them happen.
Now for that part where hopefully you can help me.
On Thursday 30th June,
I’m up for Female Personal Trainer of the Year at the Scottish Health & Fitness Awards.
This is the first year of these awards and with it being LDPT’s 11th Birthday this week, it would be a pretty magical icing on my business’s birthday cake.
Win or lose it’s amazing just to be part of it.
But it would be more amazing to win, lol.
If you think I deserve the chance to win and can spare 2 seconds to show your support and help me bring one home for Aberdeen.
Voting closes this Saturday 28th May.
And last but not least,
Whether you’ve allowed me to be part of your journey for years or whether we’ve only just ‘connected’, I just wanted to say a massive thank you!!
I’m grateful every day I get to wake up and work with such inspiring women.
